Victorian Premier Jacinta Allan joined thousands of festival-goers at this year’s Antipodes Festival, reaffirming the Victorian Government’s ongoing support for one of the state’s most iconic multicultural celebrations.

Addressing the crowd from the main stage, the Premier acknowledged the significant contribution of Victoria’s Greek community to the cultural, social and economic fabric of the state as well as confirming the Government’s continued commitment to supporting the annual Lonsdale Street celebration.

Following her address, the Premier was joined by Minister for Major Events Steven Dimopoulos, Minister for Multicultural Affairs Ingrid Stitt, Members of Parliament Kat Theophanous and Nina Taylor, and Member of the Legislative Council Lee Tarlamis, as they toured festival stalls along Lonsdale Street.

The Premier and her delegation were warmly met by community members, festival stallholders as they toured the festival  stopping for a Greek coffee at the Oasis stand, and meeting with representatives of the Victorian Hellenic Police Association at their popular stall.

The Premier’s attendance highlights the Government’s continued engagement with Victoria’s Greek community and its broader commitment to celebrating the state’s multicultural identity.
