2012 Lonsdale Street Glendi
Pantelis Thalassinos to perform a free concert on Saturday 25 February!

Join us as we celebrate Greek apokries; the tradition of carnivalé, here in the heart of Melbourne. Two days of frivolity, food and free entertainment for the whole family.
Over the past 25 years, the Antipodes Festival has grown to what is now considered one of the world's largest celebrations of Greek culture outside of Greece. The Antipodes Festival is the Greek Community of Melbourne's cultural program featuring food, visual and performance art events throughout the year as well as the celebrated Greek Film Festival.
The Lonsdale Street Glendi, a highlight of the Antipodes Festival, attracts over 150,000 people in a single weekend, celebrating and sharing all things Greek with the whole of Melbourne. A free event held in City of Melbourne's Greek Precinct, Lonsdale Street (between Russell and Swanston Streets), the Glendi (= a party; a feast; to gather and have fun), boasts two main stages showcasing 300 performers, local and international acts, children's activities, cooking demonstrations and food stalls.
